It is with great pride and anticipation that I share with you the Sustainable Agriculture Network (SAN) 2025-2030 Strategic Plan. This plan serves as our blueprint for the next six years, guiding us in our mission to transform agriculture into a force for good—one that benefits both people and nature.
At SAN, we believe that agriculture holds the key to addressing some of the most critical challenges we face today, including climate change, biodiversity loss, and rural poverty. Over the past few years, we have grown significantly—tripling our membership, expanding our reach, and enhancing our impact. This growth has been fueled by the collective dedication of our members, partners, corporate clients, and Secretariat staff, who have embraced our vision of a more sustainable and equitable world.
This strategic plan outlines four key goals that will drive our work as a global impact network through 2030:
Elevating SAN’s Global Presence and Brand – Our aim is to position SAN as the premier partner in sustainable agriculture, fostering collective impact and building our global reputation as a leader in driving agricultural transformation.
Advancing Solutions for Climate Mitigation and Adaptation – We will focus on scaling climate-smart agriculture practices that enhance resilience, support biodiversity, and help communities adapt to the changing climate.
Enhancing Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services – By promoting nature-based solutions, we will restore ecosystems while ensuring that agriculture remains productive and profitable for the millions of people whose livelihoods depend on it.
Empowering Farming Communities – Through a deep commitment to gender equality and social inclusion, we will build resilience in farming communities, ensuring that all people—especially women and marginalized groups—benefit from sustainable agriculture.
This plan is the result of a collective effort, shaped by input from our members, strategic partners, donors, and staff. It reflects our belief in the power of radical collaboration, where we harness the knowledge, expertise, and passion of our global network to co-create solutions that work across diverse agricultural landscapes. Whether through our signature programs —TerraViva, Ecoasis, and CoAmbition— or our partnerships with corporate and institutional stakeholders, we are committed to driving positive change.
But this is just the beginning. The real work starts now, and we need your continued engagement, insight, and collaboration to bring this plan to life. Together, we can transform agriculture into a driver of environmental stewardship, social equity, and economic prosperity.
