Eliane Augareils
Director, Monitoring, Evaluation, Knowledge, and Communications
Eliane joined SAN in May 2024 and brings extensive international experience to her role, having lived and worked across four continents. She spent five years in Mexico and has professional experience in Belize, Colombia, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Paraguay, and Peru. In Africa and the Middle East, her work has taken her to Benin, Burkina Faso, the Central African Republic, Egypt, Ivory Coast, Lebanon, Morocco, Mozambique, Senegal, Sierra Leone, and South Africa. Her experience in Asia includes Cambodia, India, and the Philippines. In Europe, she has lived in Portugal and the Netherlands for a combined six years and currently resides in France while working in Switzerland.
Eliane's professional journey is marked by significant contributions to sustainable development and financial inclusion. As the Senior Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEL) Manager at Better Cotton, she played a pivotal role in revising the MEL Framework. Her efforts included updating the Theory of Change, refining indicators, and enhancing methodologies and processes. Additionally, she led the development of the Delta Framework, which comprises 15 outcome and impact indicators aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals. This framework provides methodologies and tools for multiple stakeholders to monitor and report progress towards sustainable agriculture transparently and consistently.
Eliane's career also includes seven years focused on financial inclusion with Positive Planet (formerly PlaNet Finance) and five years in impact finance for sustainable agriculture with Triodos Investment Management.
Eliane holds a Master of Science in Management from Grenoble Management School, which she earned in 2023. Prior to this, she completed a preparatory program for the highly competitive French business school entrance exams, known as Prépa HEC, and obtained a degree equivalent to a Bachelor in Economics from Lycée Berthollet in 2000.
